Terms

These terms apply to your use of the Baila website and to enquiries submitted through it.

Who we are

Baila provides private ballet lessons, coaching, group classes, online training, mentorship, nutrition services and workshops. References to "Baila", "we", "us" and "our" mean the teaching practice operating this website.

You can contact us at any time at info@baila.uk.

How these terms work

These terms apply whenever you use this website, submit an enquiry, book a lesson, class or service, or buy a block of sessions or a programme from us.

Some services also have their own additional terms, which form part of your agreement with us. Our Cancellations and Refunds policy explains how cancellations, notice periods and refunds work, and forms part of these terms.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms from time to time, and the version in force is the one published on this page at the time you make a booking or enquiry.

Enquiries are not confirmed bookings

Submitting an enquiry does not create a confirmed lesson. All requested days and times are subject to teaching availability and suitable studio space, and are only confirmed once Baila responds in writing.

Bookings and confirmation

A booking is only confirmed when we confirm it in writing, normally by email. Where you book and pay through this website, your place in the selected session is confirmed by the booking confirmation we send you.

It is your responsibility to check that the date, time, location and class or service shown on your confirmation are correct. Please contact us as soon as possible at info@baila.uk if anything looks wrong.

Fees

Fees depend on lesson format, studio hire, location and duration, and are confirmed in writing before any lesson takes place.

Where a price is shown on this website, it includes VAT where applicable. Studio hire charges, where they apply, are included in the price we confirm to you, and we will tell you the studio hire amount when confirming your booking.

Payment

Lessons and classes booked through this website are paid for in advance at the time of booking. For other services, we may invoice you or take payment in advance, and we will always confirm the amount before you pay.

Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.

Cancellations and refunds

Our Cancellations and Refunds policy sets out how to cancel a booking, the notice periods that apply, what refunds you can expect, and what happens if we cancel a lesson. It also explains your 14-day cancellation rights for bookings made online.

Attendance, punctuality and late arrivals

Please arrive in good time for your lesson. If you arrive late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time, and the full fee remains payable. We are not able to extend lessons to make up for lost time.

If you cannot attend, please let us know as early as you can by emailing info@baila.uk. Our Cancellations and Refunds policy explains what refund, if any, applies.

Health, safety and fitness to take part

You agree to take part in lessons and classes at a level appropriate to your own fitness, health and experience. Please tell us before a lesson about any injury, medical condition, pregnancy, allergy or anything else that may affect your ability to take part safely, so we can adapt or advise accordingly.

Dance and physical training carry a risk of injury. By taking part you accept that risk, and you agree to follow the instructions and safety guidance given by your teacher. We may decline or end a session if we believe taking part would be unsafe.

Younger dancers and parents

Where a lesson or class is booked for someone under 18, the booking must be made by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on the participant's behalf and is responsible for their attendance and payment.

We are safeguarding trained and hold an Enhanced DBS certificate. Parents or guardians are welcome to stay for lessons where the venue allows, and should speak to us at info@baila.uk about any safeguarding question or concern.

Your rights under UK law

Nothing in these terms limits or removes any rights you have under UK law. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply to every lesson, class and service we provide.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, any service you pay for must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If a lesson or service falls short of this standard, you may be entitled to a repeat performance of the service, or to a price reduction.

If you book as a consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 also apply to bookings made at a distance, including through this website. The detail of your cancellation and cooling-off rights is set out in our Cancellations and Refunds policy.

Liability

We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our failure to provide the services properly or by our breach of these terms. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

We do not exclude or limit our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

We are not liable for business losses. If you book as a consumer, we only provide the services for domestic and private use, and we are not liable for any loss of profit, business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.

Your personal belongings are brought to lessons and classes at your own risk. Please look after valuables and do not bring anything unnecessary.

Please use this website lawfully and respectfully. You must not attempt to disrupt the website, access other people's bookings or data, or submit enquiries containing information that is untrue or that belongs to someone else.

Your personal information

We take your privacy seriously. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over your data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory rights given to you by the law of the country where you live, and you may be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Questions or complaints

If you have a question about these terms, or you are unhappy with any part of the service, please contact us first at info@baila.uk and we will do our best to put things right.

If we cannot resolve a complaint to your satisfaction, you may be able to seek advice from Citizens Advice, and any statutory rights you have are unaffected.
